SUMMARY:Beginner Inkle Weaving Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Learn how to make warp-faced plain weave bands on an inkle loom.  Students will make a simple 2-color band about 3/4 inch in width\, and approximately 60 inches long. \nThis class will go over the basics: \n\nparts of an inkle loom\nhow to make heddles\ncreating a pattern\nwinding the warp onto the loom\nstarting and finishing a band\nsteps in weaving\n\nThe techniques in this class will follow the methods presented in Anne Dixon’s “The Weaver’s Inkle Pattern Directory.” \nNo previous weaving experience is necessary.  You will need an inkle loom\, belt shuttle\, and some yarn\, preferably 5/2 perle cotton (I can supply some to anyone who may need it).  A complete supply list (miscellaneous items such as scissors\, tape measure\, etc.) will be provided before the class. \nDates: Saturday\, March 22\, 2025 – 10:00 am to 2:00 pm \nCost: $15 Member $40 Non-Member \nLocation: Glenvar Library\, 3917 Daugherty Rd.\, Salem\, VA  24153 \nMaximum Number of Participants: 10\nRegistration Deadline: March 10th\, 2025 \nWorkshop Level: Beginner \nRequired Loom: Inkle \nLunch: Please bring a snack or lunch \nQuestions?
